What “garden-style” actually means

“Garden-style” gets used as a marketing term a lot, so here’s what it actually means in our workroom: we don’t use floral foam, we don’t wire stems into unnatural bends, and we don’t force every bloom to face forward toward the viewer the way a formal arrangement does.

Instead we gather stems roughly by height and let them fall the way they naturally want to sit, tie once near the base, and trim the bottoms flush so the whole thing stands on its own in a vase. It takes real practice to make an arrangement look effortless — the technical skill is in restraint, not in more elaborate wiring.
